Bibliometrics and Visualization Analysis of Medically unexplained physical symptoms in the Web of Science Database
Краткое изложение:
Background In recent years, medically unexplained physical symptoms is widely concerned by domestic and foreign scholars. However China started late in the field of this disease, the development is relatively backward. By learning the research on medically unexplained physical symptoms by international scholars, it is significant to promote the development of medically unexplained physical symptoms in China. Objective By using the method of bibliometrics, this paper discusses the research status, research hotspots and development trend of medically unexplained physical symptoms in the world. Methods Based on the Web of Science Core Collection database, the literature related to medically unexplained physical symptoms was retrieved. After screening and data processing, bibliometric analysis was performed on the included literatures in terms of publication volume trends、 authors、institutions、and the distribution of research directions. CiteSpace 6.1R3 software was used to conduct national visual analysis of regional cooperation, document co-citation, keyword collinearity, keyword clustering, and keyword emergence. Results A total of 1615 papers were included, the number of annual publications in the field of medically unexplained physical symptoms showed an overall upward trend from 1985 to 2022, the most rapid growth occurred from 2014 to 2016. Rosmalen JGM (43 papers)、Witthoft M (41 papers) and Rief W (31 papers) ranked the top three authors in terms of the number of papers published, and the total citation frequency of the three scholars' papers ranked the top three in order. The top three institutions were all from the UK, including University of London (143 papers), King's College London (95 papers) and University of Manchester (84 papers). The top three countries /regions were England (422 papers), the United States (341 papers), and Netherlands (266 papers), all of which cooperated closely with other countries. A total of 75 research directions were involved in all the literature, with the most research in psychiatry. The literature co-citation network map includes 1393 nodes and 6153 connections, and the highest co-citation frequency is “Somatoform Disorders and Medically Unexplained Symptoms in Primary Care”. The top five keywords with high frequency of occurrence were “primary care”、“somatoform disorder”、“somatization”、“prevalence” and “depression”. A total of 12 clusters were obtained after keyword clustering analysis, which were specifically reflected in the subject category and epidemiological characteristics of medically unexplained physical symptoms、the key diseases involved、the main treatment methods and management. Keyword with the highest intensity of burst was “somatic symptom disorder”, “children”、“bodily distress syndrome”、“somatic symptom disorder” and “model” have bursted in recent years and persisted to this day. Conclusion At present, the international research on medically unexplained physical symptoms is gradually showing an upward stage. The research hotspots and trends mainly focus on four aspects:subspecies types with more research on medically unexplained physical symptoms, paying attention to juvenile groups, creating effective communication models、correct evaluation and long-term management and the therapeutic effect of cognitive behavioral therapy on medically unexplained physical symptoms.
