Abstract:
The use of antibiotics is extremely common in clinical practice, and many adverse reactions that may be caused by long-term use are well known, but their effects on irritable bowel syndrome (Irritable Bowel Syndrome IBS) are rarely mentioned, although non-absorbable antibiotics benefit rifaximin has been recommended for the treatment of non-constipating irritable bowel syndrome, but the possible problems caused by its repeated use are not clear; on the other hand, the widespread use of systemic antibiotics has been found to be positively associated with the development of IBS, Therefore, this paper summarizes the relevant research and puts forward some conjectures on the mechanism of IBS caused by antibiotic use, aiming to provide ideas and references for further research on IBS.
